This is again another post about one of the famous European country: France. Beside the unique way of numbering that they have, they have way too much of tourism spots. It is like you can have all the fun a holiday can bring. For those who loves music, you can entertain yourself in the local music scenes and the entertainment venues. Art-lovers may enjoy astonishing paintings, fabulous sculptures, and carvings in the art galleries. Fashionistas may fulfill their need of fashion awareness by attending great fashion shows in Paris.
So, what does France have? Well, this is a very small list of it. These are some of the world’s most recognizable monuments (and the best-known monument in all of Europe), and are breathtaking to behold. Be sure to take the lift for a view of the city. These attractions drew 6.2 million visitors in 2002, according to Paris Office of Tourism statistics.
Notre Dame Cathedral
Northern France is the home of some of the most important Gothic cathedrals and basilicas, the first of these being the Saint Denis Basilica (used as the royal necropolis); other majestuous and important French Gothic cathedrals are Notre-Dame de Chartres and Notre-Dame d’Amiens. Eiffel Tower
The Parisian landmark is the tallest building in Paris and one of the most recognized structures in the world and is named after its designer, engineer Gustave Eiffel. 6,719,200 people visited the tower in 2006 and more than 200,000,000 since its construction. This makes the tower the most visited paid monument in the world. Including the 24 m (79 ft) antenna, the structure is 325 m (1,063 ft) high (since 2000), which is equivalent to about 81 levels in a conventional building. Are you ready to see this tower in action? Arc De Triomphe
The Arc de Triomphe is a historical treasure in France that stands in the centre of the Place Charles de Gaulle, also known as the Place de l’Étoile (Star Square). It is at the western end of the Champs-Élysées. The arch honours those who fought for France, particularly during the Napoleonic Wars, and today also includes the tomb of the unknown soldier. This arch is one of the famous symbols of France along with the Eiffel tower.
The Louvre
The Louvre in Paris, France, is the most visited and famous art museum in the world. The structure is located on the Right Bank in the 1er arrondissement between the Seine River and the Rue de Rivoli.The structure originated as the palace during the Capetian dynasty under the reign of Philip II. The building holds some of the world’s most famous works of art, such as Leonardo Da Vinci’s Mona Lisa, The Virgin and Child with St. Anne, Madonna of the Rocks, Jacques Louis David’s Oath of the Horatii, Delacroix’s Liberty Leading the People and Alexandros of Antioch’s Venus de Milo. Centre Pompidou
Centre Georges Pompidou (constructed 1971–1977 and known as the Pompidou Centre in English) is a complex in the Beaubourg area of the IVe arrondissement of Paris, near Les Halles and the Marais. It houses the Bibliothèque publique d’information, a vast public library, the Musée National d’Art Moderne, and IRCAM, a centre for music and acoustic research. Because of its location, the Centre is known locally as Beaubourg. It is named after Georges Pompidou, who was president of France from 1969 to 1974, and was opened on December 31, 1977.
